Part of Issue 1.5

After using John Bailey’s Straighten Up!: Boss Reggae From Pama book to compile a Crab Records playlist, I’ve gone ahead and done the same for Gas Records.

Gas Records was the 4th sub-label of Pama Records and released dozens of excellent singles from 1968-1971, although Bailey maintains the Gas lacked the kind of focus that other sub-labels such as Crab and Unity had.

Current day Pama also has a Gas playlist but it’s not as complete, seemingly leaving out songs they no longer have the rights to. Also worth checking out is their Youtube playlist.
